Birthday Party!!

The idea was to have her party at the park today, of course it was the windiest day of the week and over cast. Well it was beautiful outside until around 2:30 and the party started at 3. We did try setting up her party at the park but I figured it wasn't worth chasing plates and cups all over the park and having everyone freeze. The wind was TERRIBLE!
Anyway, so I called Josh who was still at the house, had him clean it up a bit and had the party at our place. Even though it was pretty crowded, I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

The party was circus themed. I had a lot of fun planning it and I definitely think I'll do it again when Lucy gets older. There are just so many good ideas I wasn't able to do for this party, but I think for her 3rd birthday it tuned out pretty darn well.
We did eat more than just cotton candy and popcorn, there were hot dogs, chips, drinks, and fruit salad as well.

I was proud of myself and how well this cake turned out.

Party favors.

Lucy is 3! and Easter Sunday!!

It's Lucy's birthday today and I feel like she is so lucky to be able to have her birthday on Easter! I remember as a child LOVING my birthdays. My sister Rachael and I have birthdays supper close to Easter as well and it seemed like we always had the best birthdays. There is something about this time of the year that makes me feel so warm and happy. I'm pretty sure it has a LOT to do with the atonement of Jesus Christ and the beautiful weather.

I don't want to go into detail about Lucy's status, but here are a couple things about her...
-She's 23 1/2 lbs.
-Loves to sing songs and has to have mom or dad sing to her before bed. Oh and the first three songs HAVE to be in order. #1. Little Bunny Foo Foo, #2. I Know My Heavenly Father Loves Me, and #3. Family's Can Be Together Forever.
- She is such a sweetheart but does not like to mind mom and dad. I usually have to take away or threaten to take away her toys. That almost always works.
-This is Lucy, me, or Josh maybe 5-8 times a day:
Lucy: Mom! (Lindsay, Dad, or Josh)
Me: yes Lucy.
Lucy I love you!
Me: I love you too!
Lucy: I need to give you a hug and a kiss.
*She seriously does this like 5-8 times a day. I LOVE it! She is such a sweetheart.
- Before we end any type prayer, we have to say, "bless baby sister and we lover her".

Anyway, I could probably go on and on about my little girly, but what mother wouldn't.

Bugs that crawl down the wall

We decided to do a little family birthday celebration for Lucy after church. Next week we are having a birthday party for her with friends and a way better cake. She is going to have a circus themed party and I am way excited for it. I'm sure Lucy is too:)

After church blowing out candles.

We opened gifts and had a little Easter egg hunt at the park. Josh ended up hiding the eggs twice because Lucy had such a great time finding them.
Thanks to all our families for all the great gifts!!!

She got this awesome vacuum that really sucks:) This Dyson toy vacuum is probably more powerful than my Dirt Devil.

Finished!

I finally finished my table! I'm not quite finished with the chairs though. I'm still waiting for a dry, sunny, not windy day.

This is what the table looked like before.
This is the only picture I could find at the moment.
So you get to enjoy a picture of my family and Sabrina as well:)

and this is what it looked like before I painted it red

30 Weeks and Baby Shower!

I'm pretty excited to be at this point in my pregnancy. I'm having mixed feelings tho. I'm really excited to not be pregnant anymore but I am really nervous about having two little kidos. I know I can do it, but Lucy is a handful as it is so I'm just hoping this next girl will be a little more mellow.
Anyway, here is a belly shot. I feel like my belly looks a little odd in this picture. It seems like she is sitting a little higher than the norm.

My good friend Maria thought it would be fun to throw me a baby shower. She and our other good friend Melanie, put together a fabulous little shower... and it WAS tonz of fun!! I have been wanting to do a crepe bar so this was a great opportunity to do one.

I found some fun yellow china at Goodwill (the ones with the fruit in them) and Maria made the cute poof balls and mini diaper cake. I thought it all came together quite nicely.
We had the crepe bar, Italian sodas, lemon lime water, orange juice, and popcorn.

We played some entertaining games that I had never heard of before.

I didn't think I made faces like this while I talk, but apparently I do.

Thanks Maria and Melanie!!

Josh's 28th Birthday!

For Josh's birthday we went out to Coeur D' Alene to Wolf Lodge for a nice steak dinner.
I think this was by far, the best steak we have ever had. The flavor was crazy good!! They gave us 40 oz. of steak, a large loaded russet potato, baked beans, sweet bread, and clam chowder, and an amazing piece of chocolate cake. This was a meal that we split and we were stuffed! We really could have taken home leftovers, but like that was going to happen with me there.

  A Porterhouse and Sirloin steak

I couldn't get Josh to slow down on the steak and try the sides.
He was in heaven.

I made Oreo Pudding cake and Fresh Spring roles for his birthday dinner at home. I had never made either of these things before and I think they both turned out awesome! I had been CRAVING fresh spring roles for so long! Definitely  making them again.
(I didn't take these two pictures)

Picture update!

This is the rocker recliner I purchased for $116. It was 71% off. I am so in love with it and it is so comfy. This is actually a Christmas/Birthday gift from the Lopez family and my mom. Thanks!

Lucy's painted nails. Thanks Erica and Fae for the cute Valentine gift!

Lucy opened up two packages of tissues and wrapped up her Rapunzel doll.

Josh opening his Birthday gift from his mother.

Lucy showing off her Valentine gifts from Grandma Bowman.

Repainting my kitchen table. My mom got this table from an antique store years ago and it has been repainted by her, Rachael, me and me again. I know it seems like I repaint things ALL THE TIME, but I guess I'm just a curious person and I let my curiosity get the best of me. But this should be the last time this table gets painted, by me that is. Hopefully it will be finished by next week so Ill be sure to post pictures.

This is the process of stripping the 15 coats of paint already on it. I'm taking it down to the natural oak.

This is what Smart Strip paint remover does to the paint.

and then it just peels off... its actually kinda fun to take the paint off.

Lucy looking super stylish:)

Use Smart Strip if you are needing to strip the paint down to the natural wood or whatever. This stuff is crazy amazing! But remember to apply it THICK.

Good Stuff

Lucy said the best thing to me tonight. This is how it went:

Lucy was sitting at her table painting, so I grabbed my guitar thinking this would be the perfect time to practice.

I'm sitting in front of her on the couch singing a couple different songs and when I stop for a minute to change some music, this is what she says to me:

Lucy: that broke my heart.
Me: what broke your heart?
Lucy: that song broke my heart, right here (as she's pointing to her chest), I like that song mom.
Me: ha ha, which song did you like?
Lucy: its the (she starts humming the tune and then laughs)

Oh how I love my little Goose. I've always known she was a sucker for music, but I didn't realize how passionate she was about it.
